Swapping Desks for Steelwork

30/06/2026
Home | News | Swapping Desks for Steelwork

Yesterday, staff from across the Group swapped desks for steelwork and concrete as part of our ongoing Lean journey.

The tour took employees through both the Robinsons and CWP yards, giving them the opportunity to see first-hand what happens beyond the office walls and gain a better understanding of how the different parts of the business work together.

From the cut and drill line and welding sheds at Robinsons to the panel and precast production areas at CWP, the visit helped connect the dots between departments and showcase the people and processes that keep the Group moving.

The day also provided an opportunity to highlight some of the improvements being made across both businesses as we continue to find smarter, more efficient ways of working.

When you’re part of a business as diverse as Robinsons Group, it’s easy to focus on your own role without always seeing the bigger picture.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising and leading the tours.
