From a Vision to a UK Leader: Our 20-Year Story

This October, we proudly mark our 20th anniversary – a major milestone built on the foundational vision of two men: Jim and Ryan Brown.

Back in 2005, Jim and Ryan identified a distinct lack of reliable, quality structural steel manufacturing in the construction industry.

They took matters into their own hands, starting a company with a singular focus: to deliver a quality service with a strong emphasis on customer care and high standards of workmanship.

Two decades later, we are proud to say we’ve achieved that goal. Our commitment to excellence has established us as a leading name for high-performance steel buildings throughout Scotland and the wider UK.

The Power of Our In-House Team

The true strength behind Robinsons is our highly-skilled, vastly experienced, and directly employed workforce. Unlike many in the industry, we control the core trades, incorporating:

This integration, combined with our company-owned plant and equipment, allows us to maintain exceptional quality control and unmatched efficiency on every project.

It’s the combined efforts of this talented team, supported by a dedicated management structure, that ensures the seamless delivery of our steel buildings.

Manufacturing Excellence, UK-Wide Reach

Our journey began in Lockerbie, and our in-house manufacturing facility there remains the heart of our operation. This facility is crucial, allowing us to meet bespoke structural steel and cladding requirements without having to rely on external outsourcing. This hands-on control guarantees the integrity and quality of every component.

Over 20 years, we have strategically expanded our yard, factory, and office premises in Lockerbie to cope with a larger range of products and services.

We also now operate with an additional drawing office in Cheshire and a fabrication facility in Warrington, alongside a network of trusted agents. This expansion ensures we can provide an efficient, reliable, and affordable service to clients across a variety of markets throughout the UK and beyond.

Built for the Future, Backed by Experience

Our 20th anniversary is not just a moment for reflection; it’s a commitment to the future. We remain dedicated to providing sustainable, cost-effective, and robust steel-framed solutions. We look forward to:

Strengthening Customer Partnerships: Continuing the tradition of customer care that Jim and Ryan founded the company on.

Driving Quality: Ensuring every one of our steel buildings meets the rigorous standards our clients expect.

National Growth: Expanding our reach and service capabilities from our strong Scottish roots.

Thank you to every client, supplier, subcontractor, and member of the Robinsons Scotland team. Here’s to the next 20 years of building stronger foundations and setting new standards for steel buildings across the country!
