Location: Oxfordshire
Home | Robinsons swiftly rebuilt Agricultural Building after a devastating arson attack.
Type of building: Agricultural Steelframed Building,

The team at Robinsons had the pleasure of erecting a Triple Apex steel-framed building in only 38 days for Acre Hill Farm.

ET Summerfield and Son of Acre Hill Farm required a new agricultural building after an unfortunate arson attack causing £1 million worth of damage. Destroying over 200,000 tonnes of straw and 22 farming machines it was a devastating loss for the father and son. The result was that they had to cut the size of their herd by half, as they had no feed or bedding for their cattle.

Michael & Peter Summerfield

“We contacted Robinsons in the days after the fire caused by arson destroyed our existing buildings. Having been a long standing Robinsons customer we turned straight to Robinsons again to assist with our rebuild”

Project details

Peter and Michael Summerfield were looking for a fast, efficient solution to return to their working farm. Having used Robinsons previously, the Summerfields knew the reputation for high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Working in an incredibly short timeframe Robinsons could provide them with a quality steel-framed building that would stand up to the harsh environment of their farm.

Robinsons organised to visit the site and complete a quote in a short time. The scope of the project was a Triple Apex steel-framed building including foundations and erection. Only taking 38 days to erect this allowed Michael and Peter Summerfield to return to their farming business promptly.

Michael & Peter Summerfield

“We were impressed with the timescale and efficiency of the sales process with Ryan visiting the site and the quote process was completed in a short time.”

This building includes:

  • Steelwork
  • Steel purlins
  • Fibre Cement Roof with Rooflights
  • Steel Rainwater goods
  • Side cladding
  • Roller shutter doors

During the project, changes were made to make a more bespoke solutions adding multiple carrier beams to the building.

Michael & Peter Summerfield

“When works commenced on site the team of erectors completed all works to our satisfaction and we are delighted with the finished product.”
