Structural Steelwork Erector – Cumbria and Dumfries Area

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Dependant on Experience + Overtime After 40 Hours
Hours: Monday to Friday, (40 hpw)

JOB OVERVIEW
We are currently recruiting Structural Steelwork Erectors to work within our construction division. The positions will be responsible for erecting steel-framed buildings for Agricultural and Industrial projects, throughout our UK-based sites. The ideal candidates will form an existing team and have a proven track record of erecting steel-framed buildings to a high standard.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The key duties and responsibilities for this role includes, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for erecting steel structures and buildings
• The installation of various cladding systems to drawings, including composite, single skin, and build
up systems, including all flashings and associated items
• Carry out the installation of precast panels
• Examine drawings and specifications to assess job requirements
• Monitor situations to make adjustments to maintain quality and complete all contracts and
projects within agreed time frames and schedules
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations and on-site procedures
• Ensure site areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and tidy manner at all times
• Assist with general ad hoc duties as and when required
• Comply with the company’s policies & procedures and Health & Safety regulations
• Undertake additional duties as and when required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria:
• Previous relevant and proven steel erecting and/or cladding experience.
• A self-motivated team with a proactive attitude towards work.
• Hold valid site cards (CSCS & IPAF).
• One member of the team will be required to hold an SSSTS certificate.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and on own initiative with minimal supervision.
• Possess the ability to read and understand drawings.
• Have an understanding of health and safety, manual handling and working at height
regulations.
• Due to the nature of these roles, the successful candidates will have a valid driving licence and
will be willing to travel throughout the UK with overnight stays required depending on the site
location.

Desirable Criteria:
• Hold a valid CPCS card for Telehandler.
• Hold a valid CPCS card for Slinger/Signaller.
• First Aid Certificate.
