Production Operative

Location: Lockerbie
Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, Depending on Experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, Overtime available

JOB OVERVIEW

You will be an operative working in a busy production environment which specialises in the manufacturing of steel framed buildings. You will ideally have a skill set working with steel in an engineering environment, as part of a team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Measuring and marking our steelwork
  • Drilling metal
  • Using punching machine
  • Using grinders/ Abrasive wheels
  • Plasma Profile burning
  • Cutting steel plates
  • Duties include physical aspects of manual handling, such as medium lifting of flat bars etc
  • Assisting with loading materials

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATES

Essential Criteria:

  • Maintain a high standard of work under pressure
  • Willing to learn new skills
  • Willing to do overtime when required
  • Basic numeracy & literacy
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of working with metal in an engineering environment
  • Forklift ticket
