Contracts Manager – Industrial Projects

Location: Lockerbie and Site Based
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Dependant on Experience
Hours: Monday-Friday

We are seeking to recruit a Contracts Manager who will be handling our industrial projects. As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing UK-based site activities within our Industrial Projects Division, ensuring contracts and projects are delivered in accordance with specific requirements and most importantly, executed on time, to a high standard, and within budget.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The key duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the handover process from the estimating team, ensuring full understanding of project scope, specifications, and client requirements to enable accurate planning and execution.
  • Liaise with clients (typically main contractors) and internal engineering teams to coordinate and manage all activities during the pre-construction phase, ensuring design compliance, timely approvals, and smooth project progression.
  • Plan and allocate competent labour resources to meet contractual obligations and achieve critical site milestones, ensuring workforce capability aligns with project requirements.
  • Liaise with the H&S/Compliance Department to produce site specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and deliver toolbox talks, team briefings and site audits;
  • Work alongside the QHSE Manager to ensure sites are compliant with Health & Safety legislation;
  • Provide reports and regular updates, project performance and associated resource forecasts to completion for management;
  • Keep accurate records of daily progress on allocated sites;
  • Encourage team working and site staff motivation;
  • Plan, establish and maintain site set up and welfare facilities;
  • Communicate with internal departments to confirm arrangements for material and plant requests;
  • On completion of contracts/projects ensure all snagging requirements are reported and rectified, obtaining a sign-off sheet once the works have been finalised;  
  • Arrange and carry out site visits with customers and clients to assess requirements;

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Relevant experience within a similar position;
  • Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills;
  • UK driving licence with the willingness to travel.
  • Desirable:
    • CSCS Black Manager Card;
    • Valid First Aid certificate;
    • Plant tickets; IPAF, CPCS, NPORS;
    • CITB SMSTS certification
