Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, Depending on Experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours (Flexibility Required)

Job Overview

We are currently seeking to recruit a Concrete Labourer to join existing Concrete Squads within our Agricultural division. The candidate must be based in Newton Stewart/Kirkcudbright/Castle Douglas area. You will be responsible for carrying out various site projects in the formation of concrete construction for our agricultural and industrial contracts. The ideal candidate will have the ability to undertake general labouring duties and assist with tasks such as drainage, shuttering, concreting and groundworks.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with pouring and finishing concrete floors.
  • Aid the Squad Supervisor with concrete construction including shuttering walls, tanks and general site tasks such as drainage and groundworks.
  • Accept and check deliveries from internal and external parties.
  • Load and unload deliveries received.
  • Execute daily work instructions received from Management and Squad Supervisor to a high standard in a timely manner.
  • Lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure site areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
  • Monitor situations to make adjustments and maintain quality.
  • Comply with the company’s policies & procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory training when necessary.
  • Undertake additional duties as and when required

Person Specification

  • Previous construction knowledge and experience relating to the role applied for.
  • Eager and willing to take part in practical and awareness training courses required for the position.
  • Have an understanding of manual handling procedures and site health & safety.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Hold a UK driving license and be prepared to travel to UK based sites.
  • Due to the nature of the roles, the successful candidates will be able to participate in overnight stays and be flexible with their working hours.
  • Ideally, hold a valid CSCS card or willing to undertake the necessary Health & Safety training courses.
  • Plant tickets for operating plant such as roller, dumper, excavator – CPCS/NPORS or equivalent, would be beneficial.
