We have had the pleasure of supporting Lockerbie Learning Centre in developing its Outdoor Accessible Learning Area. This area will allow pupils of the Centre a safe outdoor space to enjoy and learn. The space was previously unused and unloved and required significant renovation to develop it into a space that could be fully inclusive and accessible to all pupils.
After several years of fundraising, the centre has been able to provide a space which includes a range of playground equipment. This includes apparatus that is fully inclusive for wheelchair users. Including, swings, a mud kitchen, a roundabout and a trampoline.
Robinsons donated several picnic benches allowing garden users to be seated in the area whilst enjoying their group activities. Sophie Humes and Leanne Campbell represented Robinsons by attending the opening event on the 23rd of September 2022. Ryan Brown, Managing Director said;
“We were delighted to be able to support this local community project. The centre provides the local children with a vital set of services. To be able to play a part in enhancing their access to the outdoors and expanding their learning experience will be extremely valuable.”
Developments are due to continue in the future with the addition of new bedded areas to allow centre users to work together to plant and care for flowers.
