Yard Supervisor

Location: Lockerbie
Reporting to: Operations Supervisor
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, Depending on Experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, Overtime available

As the Yard Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating the smooth running of Robinsons’ yard and stores operations, working with the management team to ensure high standards are maintained and Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The key duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the running of a busy, manufacturing yard, ensuring all deliveries to customers and sites are complete and accurate before leaving the yard area.
  • Ensure deliveries are loaded and offloaded safely and in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety procedures.
  • Complete relevant documents and checklists as required.
  • Report and document any delivery damages, discrepancies and inaccuracies to the Operations Department.
  • Follow and abide by company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Deliver a high standard of service to delivery drivers and customers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimise business processes and improve workflow.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Experience working within a busy, yard environment.
  • A valid forklift certificate is essential.
  • An understanding of Health & Safety and manual handling regulations.
  • Excellent communication and prioritising skills.
  • S/NVQ in Warehouse Management or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • HGV Category C+E Licence is desirable but not essential.
