Structural Steelwork Welder/ Fabricator

Location: Lockerbie
Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, Depending on Experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, Overtime available

Robinsons are looking to recruit a Structural Steelwork Welder/ Fabricator to join our production department based at our premises in Lockerbie. This position will be responsible for MIG welding and assisting with the assembly of structural steelwork for our steel framed buildings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The key duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Be able to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and weld steelwork accordingly.
  • Hand weld steelwork using methods such as MIG and MAG.
  • Assist with measuring, marking and preparation of steelwork.
  • Clean and degrease parts to be welded using wire brushes, grinders, or solvents.
  • Safely operate equipment and hand tools daily.
  • Maintain the production area to ensure a safe, clean and tidy working area.
  • Comply with the company’s policies & procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Undertake additional duties as and when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety within the workplace.
  • Ability to weld using one or two different methods.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with structural steelwork and engineering drawings.
  • Welding coding to EN 150 9606-1: 2017.
